In my opinion i think that Albert Bierstadt painting of "The Rocky Mountains, Lander's Peak, 1863" is part of Role 4. Albert Bierstadt born in Prussia 1830-1902. Albert came to America when he was two years old,
he was raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts. As he grew up he taught himself how to paint. Then he decided to go to Dusseldorf, Germany to study with a group of artists. They toured Europe. He took photographs and made sketches from which he later painted landscapes. sometimes put himself in dangerous situation to capture a particular scene. Bierstadt was part of a group of artists called Luminists, a term which comes from the word luminous which means radiating or reflecting light.

Artist Statements- “Worlds Apart shows a bustling metropolis congested with traffic and freeway overpass. Multiple clifftops are devided by a deep chasm crumbling beneath them-- perhaps an ominous warning to suggest that there is only so much the Earth can sustain.”
On Worlds Apart I see two clifftops with homes on top, the two homes do look some what different from each other the house on the left is bigger than the main house on the right. The house. On the right seems to have more money than the one on the left because of the construction that is being done to make the home bigger. Both homes seem to have the same amount of land but right side likes to have more in its land. Both sides of the cliff look peaceful.
The cliff on the right has skulls by the middle of the cliff with dark colors witch can suggest death. The other side has sewer water dropping to a city below the cliff, probably suggests that we are not careful with what we are spilling in our environment. The two homes on top of the cliff have nice green lawns witch could mean they like to maintain a nice green lawn but don't care of what they are spilling below.
on the bottom of the two cliffs there is a whole city with bridges, homes, and vehicles. City may be struggling or something bad is going on with it because the city looks all dry like if it was a desert. The sky looks very cloudy like if it was about to rain.
